Thank you for submitting your research article or other scientific contributions for publication. In order to expedite the editing and publishing process and enable African Journal of Engineering and Environment Research (AJOEER) to disseminate your research article to the fullest extent, we need to consummate this Agreement. If the research article or other scientific contribution is not accepted for publication, or if the research article or other scientific contribution is subsequently rejected, this Agreement will be null and void. Please note carefully that Publication cannot proceed without a signed copy of this Agreement and payment of the appropriate research article publication and processing fee.
A. TERMS OF USE
1. The research article or any scientific contribution will be made Open Access under the terms of the Innovative Regular Accrediting License which allows use, sharing and reproduction in any medium, provided that the research article is properly vetted, reviewed or cited.
2. For an understanding of what is meant by the terms of the Innovative Regular License, please refer to Ajoeer’s Open Access Terms and Conditions
(http://www.ajoeer.org.ng/copyrights policy).
3. AJOEER reserve the right to require changes to the research article or other scientific contributions, including changes to the length of the research article, as a condition of acceptance. AJOEER reserve the right, notwithstanding acceptance, not to publish the research article or other scientific contribution if for any reason such publication would in
the reasonable judgment of AJOEER, result in legal accountability or violation of the journal ethical practices. If AJOEER decides not to publish the research article or other scientific contribution, no article Processing and publication fee or any other fee shall be charged. The author is free to submit the research article or other scientific contribution to any other journal from any other publisher.
B. RETAINED RIGHTS
The author or, if applicable, the author’s worker, retains all proprietary rights in addition to copyright, such as patent rights, industrial design rights or any other intellectual property rights in any process, procedure, design etc. described in the research article.
C. LICENSE
AJOEER and users have non -exclusive rights under the terms of the Innovative Regular Accrediting License . For the avoidance of doubt, “research article or other scientific contribution” is defined to only include the research article or other scientific contribution submitted by the author for publication in the Journal (including any embedded rich media) and does not extend to any supporting information submitted with or referred to in the research article or other scientific contribution (“Supporting Information”). To the extent that any Supporting Information is submitted to the Journal, the publisher and owner, and in this case, cefpacsconsultingltd, is granted a perpetual, non-exclusive license to publish, recirculate, transmit, sell, distribute and otherwise use this Supporting Information in whole or in part in electronic and print editions of the Journal and in derivative works throughout the world, in all languages and in all media of expression now known or later developed, and to license or permit others to do so.
D. RESEARCH ARTICLES OWNED BY EMPLOYER
If the research article or other scientific contribution was written by the author in the course of the author’s employment as a “work-made-for-hire” and the employer owns the copyright in the research article, the employer company/institution agrees to the terms of use set forth in paragraph A above and must execute this Agreement in conjunction with the author in the space provided below.
E. COPYRIGHT NOTICE
AJOEER, the author and the company/institution agree that any and all copies of the research article or other scientific contribution or any part thereof insofar published, distributed or posted by them in print or electronic format will include the notice of copyright as stipulated in the Journal and a full citation to the final published version of the research article or other scientific contribution in the Journal as published by AJOEER. Also note that a simplified version of the copyrights form must be signed and submitted to the journal administrator to compliment this agreement.
F. AUTHOR’S REPRESENTATIONS
The author hereby agree and represents that: (i) the research article or other scientific contribution is the author’s original work, all individuals identified as co-authors actually contributed to the research article and all individuals who contributed are included; (ii) if the research article or other scientific contribution was prepared jointly, the author has informed the co-authors of the terms of this Agreement and has obtained their signed written permission to consummate this Agreement on their behalf as their agent; (iii) the research article or other scientific contribution is submitted only to AJOEER and has not been published before, has not been included in another manuscript, and is not currently under consideration or accepted for publication elsewhere; (iv) if excerpts from copyrighted works owned by third parties are included, the author shall obtain written permission from the copyright owners for all uses as set forth in the standard permissions form and AJOEER’S Guidelines to authors, and show credit to the sources in the research article or other scientific contribution; (v) the research article or other scientific contribution and any submitted Supporting Information contain no libelous or unlawful statements, do not infringe upon the rights (including without limitation the copyright, patent or trademark rights, industrial design rights) or the privacy of others, do not breach any confidentiality obligation, do not violate a contract or any law, or do not contain material or instructions that might cause harm or injury, and only utilize data that has been obtained in accordance with applicable legal requirements and Journal policies; (vi) there are no conflicts of interest relating to the research article or other scientific contribution, except as disclosed. Accordingly, the author agree and represents that the following information shall be clearly identified on the title page of the research article or other scientific contribution: (1) all financial and material support for the research and work; (2) any financial interests the author or any coauthors may have in companies or other entities that have an interest in the information in the research article or other scientific contribution or any submitted Supporting Information (e.g., grants, advisory boards, employment, consultancies, contracts, honoraria, royalties, expert testimony, partnerships, or stock ownership); and (3) indication of no such financial interests if appropriate.
AJOEER reserve the right, notwithstanding acceptance, to require changes to the research article or other scientific contribution, including changes to the length of the research article or other scientific contribution, and the right not to publish the research article or other scientific contribution if for any reason such publication would in the reasonable judgment of AJOEER, result in legal accountability or violation of AJOEER ethical practices.
G. USE OF INFORMATION
The author acknowledges that, during the term of this Agreement and thereafter (for as long as necessary), AJOEER may process the author’s personal data, including storing or transferring data outside of the country of the author’s address, in order to process transactions related to this Agreement and to communicate with the author and that the Publisher has a legitimate interest in processing the author’s personal data. By entering into this Agreement, the author agrees to the processing of the author’s personal data (and, where appropriate, confirms that the author has obtained the permission from all other coauthors to process their personal data). AJOEER shall comply with all appropriate laws, statutes and regulations relating to data protection and privacy and shall process such personal data in accordance with AJOEER’s Privacy Policy located at: https://www. ajoeer.org.ng/copyrights form.
[ ] I agree to the OPEN ACCESS AGREEMENT as shown above, consent to consummation and delivery of the Open Access Agreement electronically and agree that an electronic signature shall be given the same legal force as a handwritten signature, and have obtained written permission from all other authors to consummate this Agreement on their behalf.
